Issues Treated
I work with individuals experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties. The list below outlines some of the issues I support clients with in therapy.
Trauma & PTSD
Trauma and PTSD are understandable responses to experiences that were too much to cope with at the time. Therapy can help you make sense of these responses and gently move towards recovery.
Depression & Low Mood
Depression and low mood can affect how you feel about yourself and the world around you, often bringing a sense of heaviness, numbness, or loss of interest in things that once mattered.
Anxiety & Worry
Anxiety and worry may show up as racing thoughts, physical tension, or difficulty relaxing, and can interfere with everyday life.
Stress & Burnout
Stress and burnout can develop when ongoing pressures begin to feel unmanageable often leading to exhaustion, overwhelm, or emotional numbness. Therapy can provide space to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with your needs.
OCD
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can involve intrusive, unwanted thoughts and repetitive behaviours or mental rituals aimed at reducing distress.
Difficulties Managing Emotions
Difficulties managing emotions can involve feeling overwhelmed by strong feelings, experiencing rapid mood shifts, or struggling to calm yourself once emotions arise.
Low Self Esteem
Low self-esteem can involve persistent self-criticism, self-doubt, or a sense of not feeling “good enough.” Therapy can help you explore where these beliefs come from and begin to develop a kinder relationship with yourself.
Phobias
Phobias involve intense fear or anxiety related to specific situations, objects, or experiences, which can feel overwhelming or hard to control.
Relationship Issues
Relationship issues can involve difficulties communicating, managing conflict, or feeling disconnected from partners, family, or friends. Therapy can help you improve communication, resolve conflicts, and rebuild connection and understanding in your relationships.
ADHD
ADHD can involve difficulties with focus, organisation, and impulsivity, which can affect work, relationships, and daily routines.
Perfectionism
Perfectionism can involve setting very high standards for yourself and feeling constant pressure to meet them, which can lead to stress, self-criticism, or procrastination. Therapy can help you understand these patterns, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and develop more balanced and compassionate ways of approaching goals.
Anger
Anger is a natural emotion, but it can feel overwhelming or difficult to manage at times, affecting relationships and daily life. Therapy can help you understand what triggers your anger and develop healthier ways to express and cope with it.
